"In Memory of Beau"

This is a commission I just finished for Mr. and Mrs. Sturgess, of their beloved friend and companion "Beau" who passed away last year. Mr. Sturgess, 76, told me that Beau was the smartest dog he had ever owned. Painting these memorial commissions is always somewhat heartbreaking for me, but when I hear how much comfort and happiness they bring it makes it so very worthwhile.
