"Roxy" I finished this commission a couple months ago but waited till now to share it because it was a surprise wedding gift for the clients brother Jason and his fiancee Dana. As well as being dog lovers, the happy couple are avid skiers, so the client requested the snowy mountain scene in the background. I have since heard that the wedding was beautiful and that Jason and Dana loved the painting. I just love happy endings, although in this case I'd have to say it's a happy beginning. "Tuscany Rooster"
Our licensing agent sent out a call for art for a company that makes kitchen accessories. It was short notice but the subject matter that they were looking for appealed to me so I went for it. This delightfully colorful piece is the result. I added a fun border around the edges of the painting (see image below) incase a collector may want to leave it unframed.

"Blue View" - An Artists Perspective
I love working with a simple palette and I love the color blue. This painting fulfilled both of those loves. The perspective also intrigued me because I'm profoundly afraid of heights. I won't fly in a plane and I am very uncomfortable in high places. I guess the subject matter was a tantalizing mixture of sweet and sour for me as an artist. ~ Tanya

"Highland Beauty" Scottish Fold Cat Painting by Tanya Amberson
Commissioned portrait of a Scottish Fold Cat. This breed is unique because of their folded down ears caused by a natural dominant gene mutation. The folded ears combined with their characteristic round faces and large eyes give them an owl like appearance. The original Scottish Fold was a barn cat born in 1961 in Perthshire, Scotland. In time she passed her gene for folded ears on to her kittens and caught the attention of a neighbor farmer who also happened to be a cat fancier. Thus a new breed of cat came into being.
